About The Position

As an HVACR Mechanic at Brook Lane, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and reliable environment for patients, visitors, and staff at a critical healthcare facility. This full-time position involves solving complex mechanical challenges, working with advanced HVAC systems, and making a meaningful impact daily. You will be a key member of the Facilities team, responsible for the operation and maintenance of central plant systems, HVACR equipment, and related building systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three or more years of HVACR experience preferred.
  • Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration, air conditioning, heating systems, and boiler plant operations preferred.
  • Journeyman license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HVACR principles, practices, tools, and equipment.
  • Understanding of refrigerants, associated chemicals, and their proper handling.
  • Experience with refrigeration systems, pneumatic controls, air conditioning systems, and central plant operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and exceptional service in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, operate, maintain, and repair the hospital's central plant systems, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and chilled water systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and building systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and install refrigeration equipment, air conditioning units, water coolers, and related systems.
  • Work on complex HVAC and refrigeration issues that may require system modifications, upgrades, or redesigns.
  • Utilize the Building Management System (BMS) to monitor performance, maintain system integrity, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Gain exposure to and assist with other critical facility systems, including emergency generators and fire protection systems.
  • Serve as the facilities point person during off-hours when management and regular support staff are not on-site.
