About The Position

Fortis Institute in Wayne, New Jersey is seeking an experienced, motivated HVAC/R technician to teach in its HVAC program. This full-time professional faculty position reports directly to the Program Director. The primary responsibility is teaching HVAC/R courses. The instructor also provides academic advising to students, assists the Program Director, and participates in department training, meetings, and graduation.

Requirements

• Completion of an HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma.
• New Jersey Master HVACR License.
• EPA Universal certification.
• At least three years of hands-on, journey-level, or master-level experience in HVAC/R installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and results driven.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree is preferred.
• NATE credential desired but not required.
• HVAC Excellence credential desired but not required.
• Prior higher education or postsecondary teaching experience desired but not required.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC/R courses in the HVAC program.
