About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking skilled HVAC Tradesmen to service and maintain heavy commercial and industrial equipment. The role offers factory certification through the Service Technical Academy and the opportunity to learn from experienced HVAC teams. As a trusted advisor to customers, the Tradesman helps resolve comfort, building inefficiency, and other service-related issues.

The Tradesman performs mechanical installations and other work assigned under the labor agreement, at the applicable apprentice rate and under the Employer’s direction. Work is limited to the employee’s capabilities as determined by the Employer.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with HVAC equipment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Valid driver’s license with no major or frequent traffic violations.
• Willingness to join Local 601 Milwaukee Steamfitters & Refrigeration; a letter of intent is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical installations and other work assigned under the labor agreement and the Employer’s direction.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls.
• Keep Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues as needed.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to help facilities operate efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
• Adhere to the company Safety Program.
