This position is part of our planned lab expansion, with hiring expected to take place throughout 2026. Daikin Applied offers a 4-day work week, a 10% shift differential for 2nd shift, and a 2 PM start time to avoid rush-hour traffic. The role is based in a climate-controlled facility with on-site training for career growth opportunities, and tools are provided. Requirements

Associate’s degree in HVAC&R or related experience
Regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Peripheral vision.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
Ability to work at heights.

Nice To Haves

Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service
Fork truck training/license, Man lift training/license, Universal card, or R410a card

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard.
Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance.
Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments.
Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions.
Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times.
Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams.
Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications.
Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements.
Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures.
Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis.
Implement corrective and preventative actions.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities.
Provide direction, assistance and training to other technicians (senior roles only).
