About The Position

The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing heating and air equipment, inspecting and maintaining ducting, and ensuring company materials and equipment are in serviceable condition. This role involves identifying, wiring, and starting up complete residential systems, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues to keep equipment functioning properly. The technician will perform start-ups, testing, and record results to ensure proper system function. They will also inspect systems, inform dispatch/customers of concerns, and explain all services and repairs performed. Daily coordination with the office for work schedules, ordering parts, and ensuring preparedness for appointments is required. The technician will transport parts, materials, and tools to job sites, maintain an accounting of assigned items, and complete all required paperwork or tablet entries neatly and timely. Debriefing service calls with dispatch/customers and ensuring area cleanliness after job completion are also key responsibilities. The role includes maintaining the company vehicle's cleanliness and organization, abiding by company standards of performance and ethics, maintaining a courteous demeanor, ensuring protective floor savers are used in customer homes, and following safety policies and procedures. Duties may vary by location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ HVAC service experience
  • EPA Certification
  • Solder/Brazing skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Beginner computing skills and able to use a computer, laptop or tablet.
  • Basic proficiency in navigating the internet and email software such as Microsoft Outlook
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years’ experience in construction, HVAC or related experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair heating and air equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain ducting and company materials/equipment within a serviceable condition.
  • Identify, wire, and start-up complete residential systems.
  • Troubleshoot, recommend, and resolve/repair all issues to keep equipment functioning properly.
  • Perform start-ups, testing & recording results for each system during start-up to ensure the system is functioning properly.
  • Perform proper inspection of system and inform dispatch/customer of any outstanding concerns.
  • Explain each service and repair performed to dispatch/customer.
  • Directly coordinate with office for day-to-day work schedule.
  • Facilitates order for all parts required for appointments and ensure preparedness for the day of service.
  • Transport parts, materials and tools to the job site and provide proper accounting of assigned items.
  • Completes all paperwork/tablet neatly and timely as required.
  • Debrief all service(s) provided with dispatch/customer after each service call with respective documentation.
  • Inspection of area for cleanliness after job completion.
  • Maintains company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
  • Abides by all company standards of performance and code of ethics.
  • Maintaining a courteous demeanor with all customers and associates.
  • Ensure all foot ware has protective floor savers while working in customer homes.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
