About The Position

The HVAC Technician II is responsible for proficient maintenance related to HVAC and mechanical systems, electrical and plumbing, and safety inspections. This position will follow the tasks laid out by the HVAC Tech Lead and Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor. Works proactively to recognize and correct all potential discrepancies related to the mechanical systems throughout the facilities. Responds to work requests timely and professionally and is able to complete work assignments. The HVAC Technician II may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary and approved by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/mechanical/electrical work
  • Proficient Communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritizing workload.
  • Proficient knowledge of the safe operation of all tools used in the performance of duties.
  • Proficient knowledge to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for repairs to building equipment and structure.
  • Proficient knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems and building repairs.
  • Active Driver's License
  • STI Fire Stop Certified (provided by Cox yearly if not already certified) must be obtained within one year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Trade School in the mechanical fields
  • State License for HVAC Technician and/or some form of MEP Certification from an accredited trade school.
  • Refrigeration or Welding Certification
  • Operation of a fork-lift

Responsibilities

  • Proficient maintenance related to HVAC and mechanical systems, electrical and plumbing, and safety inspections.

  • Perform interior finishes maintenance.
  • Adjust millwork and hardware.
  • Maintain doors, frames, and door hardware.
  • Service plumbing and fixtures.
  • Perform electrical wiring, device, lighting, and motor maintenance.
  • Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Service medical gas and vacuum systems.
  • Maintain refrigeration units and ice machines.
  • Service air compressors and refrigerated air dryers.
  • Maintain air handlers, fans, and heat wheels.
  • Service chilled water and condenser pumps.
  • Hang mirrors, pictures, documents, and decorative items.
  • Repair and refinish furniture.
