About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared HVAC Technician in Lexington, Kentucky for a contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will maintain HVAC systems, generators, electrical systems, plumbing, and expeditionary support equipment used to keep critical infrastructure operational and mission-ready. No OCONUS travel is expected while working under the contract, although extended travel or deployment may be required if converted to a direct-hire position.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance required to start.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
  • Experience with generators, plumbing systems, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose, service, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on portable HVAC and environmental control units.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in demanding environments.
  • Ability and willingness to learn the maintenance and repair of new or specialized equipment.
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, confined spaces, and at heights as necessary.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable medical, dental, physical, and deployment requirements if hired into a position requiring future deployment.

Nice To Haves

  • Active EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
  • HVAC technician certification or license.
  • Refrigeration experience.
  • Familiarity with bare-base or expeditionary equipment and rapid-deployment structures.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on portable HVAC systems and environmental control units.
  • Maintain climate-control systems supporting personnel and sensitive equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair generators ranging from approximately 5 kW to 200+ kW and associated electrical distribution systems.
  • Set up, maintain, and repair expeditionary water and wastewater plumbing systems.
  • Maintain temporary structures such as tents and hard-sided shelters.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of bare-base and rapid-deployment equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems.
  • Ensure assigned equipment remains operational, properly inventoried, and ready for deployment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and parts-inventory records using designated maintenance management systems.
  • Diagnose complex equipment problems and develop practical repair solutions in the field.
