About The Position

Lilly is investing $4.5 billion to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. This facility will combine research and manufacturing, allowing Lilly to optimize processes, increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact. During the 2026–2029 startup and delivery phase, the HVAC Technician role will be dynamic, supporting project delivery, organizational growth, and the development of systems and processes for GMP operations. This role requires significant collaboration, creativity, and resilience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of mechanical experience in a HVAC industrial environment
  • EPA Certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English at a sufficient level to communicate technical and business information effectively.
  • Ability to follow written procedures while performing maintenance activities.
  • Tasked with maintaining a safe work environment, operating safely, and supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
  • Must be able to effectively work in a team collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to work out of your craft, as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing production environment or relevant field preferred.
  • Experience with a regulated industry: FDA regulated industries preferred.
  • Familiar with set-up and operation of Maintenance Shop hand tools & equipment: soldering and welding capability a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical & electrical prints/schematics.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS.
  • Microsoft Applications Knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in compliance with global and local Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
  • Install, repair and perform preventative maintenance on basic heating and cooling systems (e.g., unit heaters, gas furnace, humidifiers, freezers).
  • Install, repair and perform maintenance on complex heating and cooling systems (e.g., multi-zone heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, pneumatic, electric and electronic control systems).
  • Balance flow in air handling systems, fume hoods and specialty applications to bring systems back into design specifications.
  • Repair and perform preventative Maintenance on process and comfort chiller systems (e.g., water and glycol).
  • Preventative maintenance on coils for HVAC
  • Install, replace, and test filter systems (e.g., HEPA, frame filters).
  • Inspect, validate, and repair HEPA filters by checking air velocity, checking static pressure readings, performing dioctyl phthalate (DOP smoke test) inspections, inspecting fan systems to check air flow/air balance and to make necessary adjustments to belts, motors and prefilters to maintain efficiency, checking and validating alarms, replacing differential pressure switches, and cleaning blower cabinets in hoods.
  • Be certified in the use of CFC recovery equipment
  • Maintain CFC records for usage and losses.
  • Support communications between Operation shifts, Maintenance, Engineering, Automation, and site customers to keep them informed of any issues that could affect them.
  • Document all work in alignment with cGMP Good Documentation Practices.
