About The Position

The HVAC Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is an hourly, non-exempt position. The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining heating and cooling units throughout the center. This role also involves completing preventative and minor maintenance on all HVAC units. Additionally, the HVAC Technician may be responsible for transporting students by van or automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, and courts. The position requires ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good repair and kept in appropriate storage. Adherence to all PRH, PAG, CDSS policies and procedures, and the Center’s Operating Procedures is mandatory. The role also ensures all equipment and facilities are clean and maintained in accordance with Center and DOL standards, and maintains a work environment of zero accidents and injuries, including no loss-time accidents.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One years’ related work experience
  • Able to complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Technician experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred
  • Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate maintenance techniques.
  • State commercial driver’s license preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and relate to the trainee population.
  • Ability to operate household appliances.
  • Ability to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining heating and cooling units throughout the center.
  • Completing preventative and minor maintenance on all HVAC units.
  • Transporting students by van or automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, courts, etc.
  • Ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good repair and kept in appropriate storage sheds and closets.
  • Adhering to all PRH, PAG, CDSS and policies and procedures, and the Center’s Operating Procedures.
  • Ensuring all equipment and facilities are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, and DOL standards.
  • Maintaining a work environment of zero accidents and injuries including no loss-time accidents.
