HVAC Technician – JLL What this job involves: Join JLL's engineering team and develop your career in facilities management! As an HVAC Technician, you will operate, maintain, and repair facility HVAC equipment at a multi-building property in North Austin/Round Rock managed 24/7 by JLL. Working alongside a team of 10+ engineers, you'll perform moderately complex technical tasks including inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance of mechanical systems, air handlers, piping, and complex HVAC equipment. This role offers excellent learning opportunities with diverse equipment, subject matter experts, and potential career growth in engineering or facilities management. You'll report to the Chief Engineer and may lead related work or back up other technicians on complex assignments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • EPA Universal Certification (required)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of industry standards for mechanical and HVAC maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work orders, and equipment manuals
  • Three years' experience with mechanical and HVAC systems in a commercial or industrial setting (highly preferred)
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, work at heights, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Flexibility to work different schedules, holidays, weekends, and respond to after-hours emergencies

Nice To Haves

  • Technical College or Trade Program completion
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (JCI, Siemens, Automated Logic, etc.)
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience with strong documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment including large complex air movement and HVAC systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment across multiple buildings
  • Assemble, install, and test complicated mechanical equipment and apparatus
  • Inspect, repair, and replace pumps, piping systems, valves, and components
  • Analyze heating, cooling, and humidification cycles to diagnose problems and perform routine maintenance
  • Use diagnostic test equipment and hand tools to locate breakdowns and correct problems
  • Inspect systems to identify hazards, defects, and ensure compliance with codes and standards
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and order supplies and equipment
  • Oversee regularly scheduled testing and preventive maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, and instrumentation systems
  • Take ownership of cross-shift issues and ensure resolution
