About The Position

As a Facilities HVAC Technician at JLL, you will serve as the technical expert responsible for maintaining optimal environmental conditions and mechanical systems that directly support our client's operations in Indianapolis. Your expertise in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems will ensure reliable facility performance while minimizing downtime and operational disruptions. This hands-on role combines preventive maintenance with emergency repair response, requiring you to work independently on complex building systems including packaged HVAC units, electrical distribution equipment, and building automation systems. Your technical skills and proactive approach will be critical in maintaining safe, comfortable working environments that enable our client's business success while ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with technical training or degree preferred
  • Universal EPA/CFC license for refrigerant handling
  • Minimum 4 years of technical experience in building engineering with strong HVAC background
  • Demonstrated experience with packaged HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of overall HVAC system design, applications, and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work at heights up to 30 feet with proper safety equipment
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facilities as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of trade school education or documented apprenticeship in electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, or plumbing trades
  • Experience with building automation systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of fire/life safety systems maintenance and testing procedures
  • Experience working in industrial or commercial facility environments
  • Familiarity with production equipment maintenance and repair
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex mechanical and electrical systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on HVAC systems, electrical distribution equipment, and plumbing systems
  • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot packaged HVAC units, building automation systems, and fire/life safety systems
  • Conduct facility inspections and due diligence assessments, documenting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations
  • Execute work orders for building interior/exterior repairs and production equipment maintenance as assigned
  • Study equipment specifications and operating procedures to ensure proper use and maintenance of all facility systems
  • Respond to emergency service calls and perform repairs to restore critical building systems functionality
  • Collaborate with facility management team to prioritize maintenance activities and support operational requirements
