About The Position

The Facilities HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining HVAC equipment, auxiliary equipment, and grounds. This hourly position is part of the Maintenance Department and reports to the Facilities Supervisor. The role involves installing receptacles, assessing department concerns with current HVAC systems, cleaning and inspecting HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety, performing necessary repairs and routine maintenance, and maintaining HVAC systems. Additionally, the technician will maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources, troubleshoot HVAC equipment, perform 5S activities, keep HVAC units clean and in working order, handle plumbing tasks, troubleshoot and repair exhaust/supply fans, and perform other duties related to facility upkeep as required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ work experience in HVAC type maintenance
  • Current State HVAC technician License or Completion of an HVAC Training program at a vocational school or apprenticeship
  • Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants required
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Excellent problem solving and time management
  • Ability to work well in a multi-cultural environment
  • Willing to work in hot/humid, cold, noisy industrial environment
  • Must be able to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes and maintenance type vehicles.
  • Ability to oversee contractors
  • Computer skills
  • Able to work in high places with aerial lifts and ladders
  • Able to lift heavy objects
  • Able to sit, bend, kneel, stand and walk.
  • Able to work in extreme heat and cold.
  • Proficient with manual/power tools, multimeter, and able to solder copper
  • Reliable and self-motivated

Responsibilities
