About The Position

This position involves performing various skilled tasks in the operation, maintenance, diagnosis, repair, adjustment, and alteration of HVAC systems. The classification and compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. For the HVAC Technician role, the hiring range is typically $58,395 to $72,994 annually. For the Senior HVAC Technician role, the hiring range is typically $65,991 to $82,489 annually. The position also includes an annual clothing allowance of $400. The typical work schedule is four 10-hour days, usually Tuesday through Friday, from 6 am to 4:30 pm, with the possibility of additional day, evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours as needed. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of professional journey-level HVAC experience (for HVAC Technician).
  • Five (5) years of professional HVAC experience (for Senior HVAC Technician).
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License upon hire, with complying insurance.
  • A review of motor vehicle records is required at the time of hire and periodically throughout employment.
  • This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting through a national database.
  • Must possess an EPA approved Federal Refrigerant II certification (for HVAC Technician).
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Federal Universal Refrigeration License within 90 days of employment (for HVAC Technician).
  • Must possess a Federal Universal Refrigeration License (for Senior HVAC Technician).

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis of HVAC equipment failures.
  • Performs all HVAC equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Performs repairs on HVAC equipment, including boilers, air handlers, DX systems, chillers, and numerous other types of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Installs HVAC and building automation systems and equipment.
  • Installs ductwork, low voltage controls, gas piping, and ventilation systems.
  • Responsible for rough-in and final trim of new systems.
  • Performs building automation preventative maintenance.
  • Responds to and investigates complaints of malfunctioning building comfort control equipment.
  • Monitor building efficiencies to include indoor air quality and energy use.
  • Respond to after-hours or emergency calls outside of regular scheduled or business hours.
  • Remodels existing systems.
  • (Senior) Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
