About The Position

Summers Plumbing Heating & Cooling is hiring an EPA-certified Residential HVAC Technician to service and repair heating and cooling systems in customers’ homes. The technician diagnoses problems, recommends solutions, quotes prices, performs repairs, and provides professional customer service. The role also includes learning to troubleshoot a variety of residential HVAC systems and installing supporting indoor air quality (IAQ) products according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes. Employees are expected to attend training to expand their knowledge and expertise and pursue further certifications.

Requirements

• EPA certification.
• Experience in residential HVAC service and sales.
• Ability to learn to determine residential HVAC service needs, quote prices, and perform repairs.
• Understanding of residential heating and cooling equipment operation, IAQ, air distribution systems, and basic HVAC appliance and fixture repairs.
• Ability to learn to troubleshoot and repair a variety of residential HVAC systems.
• Ability to lift and maneuver equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to crawl, climb, kneel, squat, bend, reach overhead, and work on ladders.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers in homes and businesses.
• Valid driver’s license; drug testing and background checks are conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair residential heating and cooling systems.
• Diagnose HVAC issues, determine service needs, provide solutions, and quote prices for repairs or replacements.
• Perform repairs and complete proposed work as quoted.
• Inspect systems thoroughly and install supporting IAQ products according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers, office staff, and coworkers.
• Participate in on-call assignments and provide backup as required.
• Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
• Follow company policies and procedures and contribute to a professional, friendly work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
