About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking an HVAC Technician for a maintenance position in Pass Christian, MS. The HVAC Mechanic position assembles, installs, services, and repairs air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units used in homes, schools, commercial, and industrial buildings. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman. Assigned duties are performed according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. No per diem is available.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
Advanced knowledge of industrial/commercial HVAC systems
Advanced skill with HVAC diagnostic tools
Most sites will require HVAC certification
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, service, and repair air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units.
Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
Measure windows or other existing openings, or cut through walls to install new units.
Diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns.
Test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs.
Drill holes to mount units and lift parts into position.
Locate and mark the position of pipe and/or duct connections and passage holes for same in walls and floors.
Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and/or duct fittings.
Cut and thread pipe.
Connect motors to control panels and balance motors to ensure efficient operation.
Connect control panels to power source.
Install and maintain solar heating and cooling units.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
