Responsible for the highest level of skilled discipline-specific tasks required to ensure the smooth operation of Universal Orlando Utilities as it pertains to all Industrial, Commercial and Non-Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration equipment, and Ride Vehicle (RV) HVAC equipment in Ride buildings, and the oversight of the UO chill water infrastructure. This role involves a systematic approach, guidance, and expertise regarding servicing heating, air conditioning, ventilation, supply/exhaust fans, pumps, valves, piping, associated controls, and accessories site wide, with an emphasis on Ride buildings, to improve operational reliability, safety, serviceability, and system efficiencies. The position also includes servicing all mechanical and electrical components associated with walk-in freezers, coolers, rack systems, accessories, and controls site wide. Additionally, the HVAC Technician will provide mechanical and technical guidance to other HVAC technicians and apprentices, oversee third-party contractors for infrastructure repairs and equipment replacement, and verify all permitted work. Preventative maintenance, coordination with the BMS department for setpoint modifications and schedule changes, and assisting with emergency troubleshooting are also key responsibilities. The role requires understanding and participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.
