This position has a strong focus on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment systems. A very high percentage of “wrench time” is expected. Candidates are required to demonstrate technical expertise in HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting and be multi-skilled in other areas of building automation systems, pipefitting, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments. The individual in the role must be available for call-in work and perform other duties as required. Some overtime should be expected.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes
  • Minimum 4 years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with a strong background in the technical aspects of HVAC, plumbing, electrical equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Niagara/Tridium experience
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft office Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience in operating electric tools, working on a ladder, carrying tools, lifting, and carrying loads up to 70 pounds and safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Valid Driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Corrigo or other CMMS systems
  • EPA 608 Universal license

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and adjust HVAC, electrical, emergency backup power systems and hot water systems
  • Monitor operation, adjust, and maintain chilled water and air conditioning equipment, hot water heaters, pumps, valving, piping, and filters.
  • Requires the ability to monitor and analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions, and takes corrective actions as require restoring operation.
  • Reports any equipment problems, impending supply, or material shortages to the Chief Engineer.
  • Install and repair plumbing, piping, tubing; wire electrical controls and single and three phase motors.
  • Maintain and repair 480-volt electrical controls, electrical switching, and motor controls
