About The Position

This role involves performing HVAC repairs, including troubleshooting and component replacement. The technician will also be responsible for routine preventative maintenance, completing work required by municipalities and building inspectors, and working overtime when needed. The position requires professional communication with coworkers, vendors, and residents, a positive attitude, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks. The technician will identify and report issues involving employees, property, or residents, and complete service requests in occupied apartments in a timely manner. Lifting up to 50 lbs. and climbing ladders to various heights is required. The technician may also be asked to assist with other tasks and duties relative to community operations.

Requirements

  • Must be HVAC certified.
  • Must have hands on experience using gauges, meters and necessary hand tools.
  • Should have a strong mechanical ability.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical systems.
  • Able to follow instructions while investigating furnace or air conditioning problems.
  • Applicants should demonstrate strong attention to detail, the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team and independently, excellent communication skills, adept troubleshooting abilities, sound decision-making skills, and the initiative to undertake responsibilities and tackle challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally communicate with coworkers, vendors, and residents
  • Identify and report to management issues involving the employees, property or residents
  • Timely complete service requests in occupied apartments
  • HVAC repairs including troubleshooting and replacement of components, etc.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines, tools and equipment continue to run properly.
  • Complete work required by municipalities and building inspectors
  • Work overtime when needed
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. and climbing ladders to various heights is required
  • May be asked to assist Supervisor/Manager/ Area Director with other tasks and duties relative to community operations
