About The Position

Tuscany Suites & Casino is looking for a Full-Time experienced HVAC / Refrigeration TECHNICIAN. This role is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and operation of all HVAC & R equipment. The technician must adhere to EPA and OSHA regulations, maintain inventory of parts, and ensure a safe working environment for employees and guests. The position requires flexibility in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Requirements

  • Must have a Universal Certification (EPA card).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have 2 years’ experience in commercial HVAC Refrigeration and Kitchen equipment.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to carry 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke and high noise levels.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all refrigerant is recovered and logged according to the EPA certification.
  • Follow hot works permit requirements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC & R equipment according to manufacturer or health department requirements.
  • Maintain an adequate stock of HVAC & R parts for necessary repairs.
  • Clean up all areas after completing preventive maintenance or repairs to any HVAC & R equipment.
  • Maintain logs of equipment data, equipment repairs, and refrigerant usage.
  • Ensure that tools and instruments used for repairs of the HVAC & R equipment are in good working order or sent out for testing if required.
  • Follow OSHA requirements for safety when working alone, around other employees, and around guests.
  • Use proper safety equipment when working around HVAC & R equipment or using tools.
  • Minimize loss of efficiency by taking all necessary parts and tools at the same time to complete a job.
  • Return tools to their rightful place.
  • Maintain MSDS sheets for any liquids, chemicals, or powder products used in the HVAC & R department.
  • Follow the Tuscany Suites & Casino employee handbook in its entirety.
  • Perform other job duties assigned by management as needed.
  • Write a purchase order for every part or supply needed after approval from the Assistant, Director of Engineering.
  • Follow daily or weekly checklists in their entirety.
  • Be flexible to alter scheduled shifts to complete projects or repairs without affecting hotel or casino operations.
  • Work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors.
