About The Position

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and modification of HVAC/R systems supporting medical, educational, and research facilities across the UAMS campus. These systems are critical to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for patients, students, and employees. This role responds to routine maintenance needs as well as urgent facility-related issues and emergencies, providing timely and effective solutions to support continuous campus operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED PLUS One (1) year HVAC/R installation and repair experience
Technical degree in HVAC/R or related may be accepted in lieu of experience
Valid Driver's License
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

EPA 608 Universal License

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC/R systems across campus facilities
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
Respond to service calls, work orders, and emergency situations in a timely manner
Monitor and adjust building automation systems (BAS) as needed
Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service activities
Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve facility-related issues
Assist with equipment upgrades, system modifications, and special projects as assigned
