About The Position

Install, repair and perform preventive maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and related systems at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Majority of work is related to highly specialized PC Air units which cool aircraft while on the ground. Perform skilled repairs and preventive maintenance to heating and air conditioning equipment, both chilled water systems and direct expansion equipment.

Requirements

High school graduate/GED required with five years of experience or associate degree and three years’ experience in a relevant work/industry/military/job specific experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential job duties.
Read and write sufficiently to complete related paperwork and read schematic designs and blueprints.
Must have Universal CFC certification.
Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, the traveling public and tenants.
Follow oral and written instructions.
Valid driver’s license with no more than 6 points and ability to qualify for City driving permit.
Certain convictions willבל disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude from employment.

Nice To Haves

NC State HVAC H2 or H3 license preferred.
North Carolina State Contractor’s licenses: H1, H2 or H3 preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, repair and perform preventive maintenance of HVAC and related systems.
Provide lead direction to other building maintenance workers.
Perform semi-skilled to skilled repairs and preventive maintenance to plumbing and electrical equipment and other building systems as needed.
Complete all associated paperwork.
