About The Position

Lincoln Tech's in Houston, TX is seeking skilled HVAC service technicians ready to transition their career into a rewarding role teaching the next generation of HVAC professionals. We are particularly interested in candidates with extensive experience in advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of HVAC system failures, complex repair work on various equipment types and brands, building automation and control systems (BAS) maintenance and programming, both residential and commercial HVAC service and repair, and equipment performance testing, calibration, and optimization. This role offers a stable 4-day work week with no emergency service calls or weekend work, allowing you to share your diagnostic expertise and transition to a role that's easier on your body while still utilizing your technical skills. Lincoln Tech provides all the curriculum, training, and support needed to succeed, even without prior teaching experience. You will help address the skilled trades gap by training the next generation of HVAC technicians.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on HVAC service, repair, and diagnostic experience
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex system failures
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical circuits, controls, and mechanical components
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment
  • Experience with building automation systems and controls troubleshooting
  • EPA 608 Certification
  • Strong understanding of system performance testing and optimization
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex diagnostic processes clearly
  • High school diploma/GED

Nice To Haves

  • Master or Journeyperson preferred
  • Experience training, supervising, or mentoring other technicians (formal or informal)
  • Additional technical education or certifications

Responsibilities

  • Teach advanced diagnostic and repair techniques using Lincoln Tech's proven curriculum in both classroom and hands-on lab settings
  • Guide students through practical troubleshooting scenarios, system analysis, and repair procedures
  • Demonstrate proper testing, calibration, and repair of various HVAC components and systems
  • Share your real-world insights on identifying and resolving complex system failures
  • Train students on proper use of diagnostic tools, test equipment, and service procedures
  • Prepare students for industry certifications and successful careers as service technicians
  • Create an engaging learning environment that builds both technical skills and professional work habits
