About The Position

Under the direction of the HVAC supervisor, shift supervisor and shift manager, the incumbent adjusts, repairs, troubleshoots and maintains heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality of air, airflow, and temperature at both on and off-site facilities.

Requirements

High School diploma or technical certificate required
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience with commercial industrial equipment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Must be able to read, understand and interpret schematics, plans, diagrams and drawings
Must be safety conscious
Must be able to work as a team player to accomplish goals of the engineering department
Must be able to read and write English and be able to effectively communicate with guests and co-workers
Refrigerant recovery certification required

Responsibilities

Performs all preventive maintenance on systems and maintains applicable log books
Conducts walk-through inspections; changes belts, filters, adjusts volume dampers, checks gauges, coils, drain lines, bleeds gas lines, resets compressors, check unit sensors, relocates ductwork and troubleshoots to locate sources and cause of malfunction
Assists with estimating parts, supplies, equipment and labor hours needed to complete assigned repairs
Monitors computer for malfunction
Maintains quality of air, air flow and temperature at on and off-site facilities; adjusts valves to regulate temperature of lubrication oil and flow of water through system
Records gauge readings, repairs completed and time lost due to inoperative equipment
Maintains technical logs and records all relevant data as appropriate
