About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing HVAC and refrigeration equipment, as well as hydronic systems, electrical controls, and high and low voltage power. The role involves operating and maintaining energy management systems and digital/pneumatic controls. The technician will also coordinate work with other departments and sub-contractors, manage inventory, and drive college vehicles for supply and equipment retrieval. Additionally, the position requires attending staff meetings, professional seminars, and conferences, and gathering information for reports. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of recent and verifiable experience working with heating, air conditioning and ventilation.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and locations as assigned based on the needs of the College.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, as well as effective oral and written communication.
  • Must have computer knowledge to be able to perform job related tasks, clock in/out, and view personnel related information (i.e., paycheck, W-2, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs hydronic systems and electrical controls and equipment.
  • Works on high and low voltage power.
  • Maintains, repairs and operates energy management system.
  • Operates and maintains digital controls and pneumatic controls.
  • Coordinates work with other departments and sub-contractors.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and parts and requests additional items as necessary per job project.
  • Drives College vehicles and operates golf carts and light trucks to retrieve/return supplies, equipment, tools, etc.
  • Attends staff meetings to exchange information.
  • Attends professional seminars and conferences to improve professional skills and maintain required licenses/certifications.
  • Gathers, verifies, and maintains information to support periodic and special reports documenting activities and events for assigned area.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.
