HVAC Technician I
About The Position
HiFyve is hiring an HVAC Technician I in the Kansas City, MO area! This is a full-time position with a starting pay of $21-$28.48/hr, depending on skills and experience. The role involves delivering and installing portable HVAC and climate control equipment, training customers on its use, and troubleshooting/repairing equipment. The technician will also be responsible for inspecting gas connections, completing paperwork, maintaining equipment records, and supporting emergency service calls through a rotating on-call schedule. General shop duties and equipment preparation are also part of the role.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of HVAC experience preferred
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing climate control equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to safely work with propane and natural gas connections
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends during peak periods
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while following established safety procedures

- HVAC certificate preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver and install portable HVAC and climate control equipment at customer locations, main equipment will be gas fired heaters and package air conditioners.
- Train customers and authorized operators on the safe use of equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and climate control equipment
- Understand the operation, specifications, capabilities, and controls of rental equipment
- Install flexible gas hose for propane and natural gas applications
- Safely inspect and verify gas connections
- Clean, test, and inspect returned equipment to ensure proper operation and appearance
- Complete paperwork for deliveries, pickups, installations, and service calls
- Maintain accurate equipment records, serial numbers, and rental tracking
- Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers
- Safely operate company vehicles and follow all company safety procedures
- Support emergency service calls through a rotating on-call schedule
- Perform general shop duties and assist with equipment preparation and maintenance
