About The Position

The HVAC Technician 2 position installs and maintains building heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems (commercial and residential), refrigerators, drinking fountains, walk-in freezers, ice machines, evaporative coolers, furnaces, lab equipment, appliances, and other gas fueled equipment. Adjusts and replaces thermostats, works on pneumatic and electric controls, replaces electric motors, single and three phase, replaces bearings and fan assemblies, works on air handlers with chilled and hot water coils, replaces compressors, works on cooling towers and water treatment systems, repairs and replaces pumps, works on gas furnaces and incinerators, and installs and repairs ducting. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

Minimum of five years related experience.
Complete understanding of Uniform Mechanical Code and other codes that apply to the trade.
Must be able to use all tools, equipment, and machinery necessary for HVAC work.
Must be able to operate and maintain light mechanical equipment.
Must be able to work effectively in protective clothing and equipment.
Able to read, write legibly.
Speak in English with professional quality.
Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.
Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
Collaborate and accept direction.
Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
