About The Position

The HVAC Technical Product Trainer will perform a broad range of equipment support functions and training for Slakey's customers and branches. Provide customers and Slakey Brothers Team Members with product application, installation, and service training for our major equipment lines. Provide education to all dealers on unitary and ductless products to include: product feature benefits, system matches, application basics, installation best practices, proper startup, and service. Develop and deliver instructional classes, presentations, and videos to assist new and existing dealers. Provide technical field support assistance for Slakey Brothers customers. Provide parts research assistance, accessory, and functional parts stock suggestions. Able to travel as required with extended overnight stays

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related work experience and excellent knowledge of HVAC industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy
  • Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations
  • Recognizes when to use a formal or informal approach, good at crafting a solution rather than simply saying “no”
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Completion of a 2-year college degree in technical studies or equivalent work experience
  • Able to operate a personal computer, calculator, other office machines, and proficient in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent driving record
  • Able to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout our facilities
  • Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies on a frequent basis
  • Able to travel as required with extended overnight stays

  • Ductless background knowledge preferred
