About The Position

Austin Industrial provides premier self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft service to leading industrial companies across the U.S. An industry leader for more than 60 years, we offer single-source solutions to our customers in the oil, gas, chemical, food, agriculture, power, and manufacturing industries. Austin Industrial is currently seeking a HVAC Technician to join our staff located at Franklin, VA. They must be able to perform installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers, and packaged units throughout the district. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • HVAC Certification required
  • Meet physical demands as listed above
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
  • Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
  • Applicants must be legally able to work for ANY employer in the United States.
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Technician Certification
  • 5+ years of supervisor experience
  • Manage and continuous evaluation of maintenance program requirements and records
  • Good customer and employee relations
  • Good leadership skills
  • 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Critical thinking; predictive and preventative maintenance, finding root cause of failure.
  • Work positively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work alone, with a partner, or as a member of a team maintaining safety, quality & productivity.
  • Engage in preventative maintenance processes through facility.
  • Willingness to cross train and learn new skills in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
  • Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes, stores and work order

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and install plant mechanical systems in pulp and paper manufacturing industry.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment like conveyors and presses
  • Read mechanical prints and diagrams (including HVAC systems)
  • Other duties as assigned.
