About The Position

As an HVAC Journeyman at JLL, you'll maintain optimal climate control and air quality across our diverse portfolio of commercial properties. This position requires a skilled technical professional who can independently diagnose, repair, and maintain complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, and building automation systems. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship program or vocational training
  • Valid Journeyman HVAC license and EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (Section 608)
  • Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on experience with commercial HVAC systems
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Strong understanding of HVAC principles, refrigeration cycles, and control systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights, in confined spaces, and various weather conditions
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications in specific equipment brands such as Trane, Carrier, or York
  • Experience with chiller systems, boiler operations, and central plant equipment
  • Knowledge of LEED standards and energy-efficient building practices
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to mentor and train apprentice-level technicians

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and building automation systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system problems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
  • Respond promptly to service calls and emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations
  • Install new HVAC equipment and components according to specifications, blueprints, and building codes
  • Conduct system start-ups, performance testing, and commissioning activities to verify proper operation and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and equipment logs for all maintenance and repair activities
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including EPA refrigerant handling requirements and safety protocols
