About The Position

This role involves the installation and maintenance of insulation materials in various industrial settings. The technician will be responsible for measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing insulation on piping, vessels, tanks, ductwork, boilers, and other industrial equipment. This includes removing and replacing damaged insulation, applying protective coverings, and interpreting blueprints and work orders. The position requires adherence to safety procedures, including working at heights and in confined spaces, and utilizing various hand and power tools. Effective communication with team members and supervisors is essential.

Requirements

  • Measure, cut, fit, and install insulation materials (fiberglass, mineral wool, calcium silicate, ceramic fiber, foam, or similar)
  • Insulate piping, vessels, tanks, ductwork, boilers, and other industrial equipment
  • Remove and replace damaged or worn insulation
  • Apply protective coverings such as metal jacketing, vapor barriers, or weatherproofing
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders
  • Follow proper procedures for hot, cold, and cryogenic insulation systems
  • Work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in outdoor or indoor industrial settings
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and insulation-specific equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, site-specific rules)
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and other trades
