We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for HVAC/EO operations. This position works closely with Facilities Management zone managers and serves as a key link between management and skilled trades staff to ensure high-quality maintenance, efficient use of resources, and safe, reliable building systems. Through hands-on supervision, coordination, and team development, this role helps create a well-functioning environment that supports students, faculty, and staff. Position must maintain an awareness of the maintenance workload and available resources to make maintenance decisions. The position will be in charge of overseeing employee performance, information gathering, diagnosis, equipment inventory, labeling, and scheduling for preventive and predictive maintenance programs, planned maintenance, corrective and reactive maintenance and repair, and staffing and developing the HVAC/EO Trades team. Within specific guidelines, supervise the performance of all phases of HVAC/EO general, aesthetic, corrective, reactive, planned, and preventive maintenance. Schedules tasks, assigns technicians, replaces filters, belts, lights, intake screens, seals, lubrication, preservation, and servicing of equipment. Supervise emergency generator testing, and small boiler and pressure vessel inspections and maintenance. Oversight of safety instruction, inspection of tools and equipment, and quality control of completed work. Must be able to work well with students, faculty & staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment. Regularly stands, lifts, bends, stoops, lifts above shoulders and carries 50 lbs or more. Employee in this position is required to work shift work when work can not be accomplished during regular hours and when the management staff deems necessary. Overtime is an essential function of this position and may require work during non-business hours (evenings, weekends, & when OSU is closed). Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain a personal cell phone and will be required to be continually available both during and after normal working hours. Appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment), gloves, safety glasses, etc are provided for use in the work place. Must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management regardless of the weather conditions. Some irregular and extra hours as needed for projects and emergencies. Emergencies frequently involve difficult working conditions. This may require work during non-business hours (evenings, weekends, & when OSU is closed).Must adhere to all safety requirements, and promote work safety.
