About The Position

The HVAC & Sheet Metal Superintendent is responsible for leading all field operations for industrial HVAC and sheet metal construction projects. This position oversees installation activities, workforce coordination, safety, quality, scheduling, and project execution to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications. The Superintendent works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and field teams to deliver high-quality mechanical systems, including mission-critical and data center projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial HVAC and sheet metal construction
  • 3+ years of experience leading field operations as a Superintendent or Foreman
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork fabrication, installation methods, and SMACNA standards
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and delivering exceptional project results

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification preferred for refrigerant oversight
  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software preferred
  • Experience with mission-critical, industrial, or data center mechanical systems is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all HVAC and sheet metal field operations, including ductwork fabrication, installation, and equipment setting
  • Coordinate daily activities of field crews, subcontractors, and trade partners to maintain project schedules
  • Plan labor, equipment, and material needs to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, SMACNA standards, and company quality expectations
  • Promote and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies across all job sites
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment staging, and installation sequencing
  • Support HVAC system startup, testing, balancing (TAB), and commissioning activities
  • Identify and resolve field issues related to scheduling, coordination, constructability, and trade conflicts
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, production tracking, safety documentation, and project records
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, owners, and field leadership to drive successful project outcomes
  • Mentor and develop field personnel while promoting continuous improvement and accountability
