About The Position

Childers Air Plumbing & Electric is seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Service Technician to join their growing team. This role involves running residential and light commercial service calls, diagnosing heating and cooling system issues, performing repairs and maintenance on various HVAC components, and providing excellent customer service. The technician will also be responsible for completing service documentation, maintaining a service vehicle, and adhering to safety procedures. Participation in an on-call rotation may be required.

Requirements

HVAC service experience preferred
Strong troubleshooting skills (electrical, refrigerant, airflow, mechanical)
EPA certification (preferred or required)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Strong communication and customer service skills
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
Ability to lift equipment
Ability to climb ladders
Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments

Responsibilities

Run residential and light commercial service calls
Diagnose heating and cooling system issues
Repair and service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, thermostats, and ductless mini-splits
Perform routine maintenance and system safety checks
Clearly explain issues, repairs, and recommendations to customers
Provide repair and upgrade options when needed
Complete service documentation (invoices, photos, notes) using company software
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle
Follow all safety procedures and industry standards
Deliver professional, on-time service while in uniform
Participate in an on-call rotation as needed
Work closely with dispatch and team members to complete jobs efficiently
Protect customers’ homes with proper care (shoe covers, drop cloths, cleanup)
