HVAC Service Technician
About The Position
John's Service & Sales is seeking motivated HVAC Service Technicians to join their team in Oglesby, IL. This is a full-time permanent position covered under the Sheet Metal Workers Local 1 Collective Bargaining Agreement. The role involves diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining residential HVAC systems, including installation and replacement of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and indoor air quality equipment. Technicians will also perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, service light commercial equipment, and communicate professionally with customers. A company vehicle is provided.
Requirements
- 3-5 years HVAC experience in a residential setting.
- EPA Section 608 Certification required.
- Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, construction, or trade school experience is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work safely in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems.
- Install and replace furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and indoor air quality equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and seasonal tune-ups.
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, and airflow issues.
- Service light commercial HVAC equipment as needed.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and commercial customers.
- Complete service documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
