About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking experienced HVAC Service Mechanics for light commercial and/or heavy commercial markets to work with advanced heavy commercial and industrial equipment. The role involves providing top-tier customer service to resolve building inefficiencies and service-related issues. The company offers factory certification through its Service Technical Academy (STA) with milestone recognition and rewards, increased incentive opportunities, advanced technology, equipment, uniforms, and a strong focus on employee safety. Mechanics will be provided with tools and a vehicle to perform their job duties. As a trusted advisor, you will offer solutions and outcomes during service calls.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Ability to commit to a 30-Hour OSHA Certification, which is to be completed after hours and weekends upon hire.
  • Computer savvy with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Practical working experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment.
  • May be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify special skills.
  • Scope of work limited to commercial HVACR service.

Nice To Haves

  • Seven (7) years of Commercial and or industrial work experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Refrigeration Certification preferred.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
  • Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open-drive screw chillers, and ammonia systems.
  • Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
