HVAC Service Controls Technician

About The Position

Ameresco is hiring an HVAC Controls Service Technician to work in the Bradenton, Florida area. The position supports new construction and retrofit projects in commercial buildings, hospitals, schools, and industrial facilities. The technician provides services for HVAC and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, including startup, commissioning, and ongoing service. The role includes travel to local job sites and may require travel within central Florida; a company van is provided.

Requirements

At least 3 years of HVAC/R controls or service experience.
High school diploma or equivalent experience in lieu of experience.
Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
Basic technological proficiency and familiarity with iPad operation.
Basic understanding of electricity, electrical circuits, and HVAC mechanics.
Previous experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and programming building controls and servicing HVAC systems.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with building automation systems manufactured by Automated Logic, Alerton, Delta, Distech, Reliable, Computrol, JCI, Siemens, Trane, and/or Tridium.
Tridium AX or N4 certification.
Experience with BACnet, LON, or Modbus.
Experience with Visio and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Perform technical functions including programming, integration, system startup, service, commissioning, owner training, and preparation of project record documents.
Meet client expectations and take a lead role in developing client relationships.
Maintain open communication with clients and the project manager to keep essential project activities running smoothly.
Assist with developing and improving related processes, procedures, and tools.
Reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with company safety requirements.
