About The Position

Tuscany Suites & Casino is seeking a Full-Time experienced HVAC / Refrigeration Technician. This role is responsible for ensuring all refrigerant is recovered and logged according to EPA certification, maintaining hot works permit requirements, and performing preventive maintenance on HVAC & R equipment according to manufacturer or health department requirements. The technician will also manage onsite HVAC & R parts inventory, ensure work areas are cleaned after repairs, and maintain logs of equipment data, repairs, and refrigerant usage. Tools and instruments must be kept in good working order, and OSHA requirements must be followed for safety. The role requires minimizing efficiency loss by taking all necessary parts and tools at once and returning tools to their rightful place. Maintaining MSDS sheets for chemicals and following the employee handbook are also key responsibilities. The technician may be required to perform other duties assigned by management and write purchase orders for parts/supplies after approval. Daily or weekly checklists must be followed, and scheduled shifts may be altered to accommodate projects or repairs without affecting hotel or casino operations. The position requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to carry 50 lbs.

Requirements

Must maintain a Universal Certification.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must have 2 years’ experience in commercial HVAC Refrigeration and Kitchen equipment.
Required to carry a universal EPA card.
Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to carry 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke and high noise levels.
Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
Work indoors and outdoors be exposed to various environmental factors.

Responsibilities

Ensure that all refrigerant is recovered and logged according to the EPA certification.
Ensure that the hot works permit requirements are followed.
Ensure that all HVAC & R equipment is having the preventive maintenance done according to manufactures or health department requirements.
Ensure that onsite HVAC & R parts are stocked for the necessary repairs.
Ensure that if preventive maintenance or repairs to any HVAC & R equipment that gets completed that all areas are cleaned and disposed of.
Ensure that the logging of equipment data, equipment repairs, and refrigerant usage are maintained.
Ensure that tools and instruments used for repairs of the HVAC & R equipment are in good working order or even sent out for testing if required.
Ensure that OSHA requirements are followed for the safety when working by oneself, working around other employees and around our guest using public areas.
Ensure that the proper safety equipment is used when working around HVAC & R equipment or the use of tools.
Ensure that there is minimal loss of efficiency all parts and tools needed for the repairs are taken all at the same time to do the job.
Responsible for the tools to be returned in its rightful place.
Ensure to maintain MSDS sheets for any liquids, chemicals, or powder products use in the HVAC & R department.
Ensure that the Tuscany Suites & Casino employee handbook is followed in its entirety.
Ensure that at times you will be required to step outside this job description and do other job duties assigned by management.
Ensure that a purchase order is written for every part or supply needed after the approval of Assistant, Director of Engineering.
Ensure that the daily or weekly checklist is followed it is entirety.
Scheduled shift may be altered at any time to do the projects or repairs not affecting the operations of the Hotel or Casino.
