Requirements
- Two years of experience or training in the installation and/or maintenance of heating, ventilating, or air conditioning systems.
Responsibilities
- Performs advance repairs, troubleshooting and modifications to all types of HVAC and refrigeration Systems.
- Performs major competed system overhauls of large tonnage, high horsepower centrifugal and reciprocating chillers and refrigeration equipment used in comfort conditioning and in large walk in food coolers and freezers.
- Operates, regulates, and adjusts domestic and hot water boilers, circulation pumps, chillers, and refrigeration systems associated with building operation.
- Performs highly specialized electrical power installations; pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls; and sheet metal and plumbing installations relative to each job.
- Performs major replacements, new installations and modifications of HVAC and refrigeration equipment of all sizes.
- Regulates flow and starts and stops pumps, chillers, hot water systems, etc. associated with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Assists in the training of HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanics and apprentices.
- Oversees work of subordinate mechanics.
- Estimates time and material for repair job
