About The Position

This position performs a variety of simple and routine tasks to assist skilled workers with ventilation, heating, cooling, and control systems. The role involves troubleshooting, calibrating, servicing, and maintaining various HVAC equipment, including roof-top units, drinking fountains, ice machines, and controls. The HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic Helper works alongside skilled trades to assist in installation, maintenance, and repair work, often involving common hand tools and basic knowledge of equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining daily logs, cleaning tools and work areas, learning incidental tasks associated with various occupations, and assisting with building renovations and remodeling of ventilation, controls, and refrigeration systems. The role also requires maintaining records on the M-Pulse 8 Database, performing minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs, assisting with snow removal and demolition/construction, and responding to emergency maintenance requests.

Requirements

Valid, unrestricted insurable driver’s license.
Resume and references are required.
Two (2) years direct work experience in construction or facility maintenance.
High School diploma or Equivalency (HSE).
Degree, transcripts, license and certifications must be emailed.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of simple and routine tasks to assist skilled workers with the ventilation, heating, cooling and control systems.
Troubleshoots, calibrates, services, and maintains different types of HVAC equipment, roof-top units, drinking fountains, ice machines, morgue and controls.
Works with skilled trades or craftsmen to assist in the performance of installation, maintenance or repair work.
Performs tasks such as daily logs, cleaning tools, equipment and work areas, etc.
Works with skilled trades or craftsmen to learn the incidental tasks associated with two or more occupations.
Works with and receives instructions from higher-grade workers.
Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings ventilation, controls, and refrigeration systems.
Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures on the M-Pulse 8 Database.
Makes minor electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.
Assists with snow removal during winter months.
Assists with demolition and construction in the hospital.
Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
