About The Position

We are looking for a skilled Commercial HVAC – Refrigeration-Kitchen Technician to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC, Refrigeration, and Kitchen equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all HVAC, Refrigeration, and Kitchen equipment are operating efficiently and effectively, diagnosing issues, and performing necessary repairs. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial HVAC, Refrigeration, and Kitchen equipment, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Safety is a top priority, and you must adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. Additionally, you will be expected to keep detailed records of all work performed and parts used. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in refrigeration or HVAC technology preferred.
  • EPA certification card
  • Minimum of 10years of experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration.
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration and kitchen equipment and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment used in HVAC and refrigeration repair.
  • Ability to keep detailed records and documentation.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
  • Experience with computer-based diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to perform emergency repairs.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
  • Proficiency in the above areas and a good foundation in all other areas
  • Previous Hotel experience is an asset
  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the same position with a trade certificate/journeyman card in A/C and refrigeration (HVAC)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment/systems operate efficiently.
  • Replace defective parts and components.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Keep detailed records of all work performed and parts used.
  • Communicate effectively with superiors to explain issues and solutions.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Test refrigeration systems for leaks and other issues.
  • Calibrate systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Train and mentor engineers.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed.
  • Ensure proper disposal of refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Must answer the radio calls.
  • To complete all guest related service requests within 30 minutes
  • Complete all non-guest related work order requests as scheduled in a professional and timely manner, taking care to clean up completely after work is done and/or request housekeeping support.
  • To assist with all duties in the Engineering Department including all aspects of mechanical repairs, electrical work and painting, etc.
  • Must be able to keep a detailed logbook
  • Ongoing dedication to exceptional guest service, both to internal and external guests
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to complete requests in timely, accurate, efficient and knowledgeable manner
  • Other duties as assigned
