About The Position

Performs a wide variety of skilled tasks involved in the maintenance and repair of facility heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment and systems. Additionally, this person will provide assistance with the maintenance and repairs of the buildings Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. The individual may work independently or as part of a team to accomplish department objectives.

Requirements

  • Maintenance and repair of facility heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment and systems.
  • Assistance with the maintenance and repairs of the buildings Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
  • Mechanical, electrical, controls, and pneumatic components maintenance.
  • Repair of air handler systems, rooftop units, fan coil units, VAV and CAV boxes, fans, motors, pumps, compressors, icemakers, and walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • Conservation, installation, and recycling of CFC and HCFC refrigerants.
  • Use of Building Automation System.
  • Use of machines, hand tools, and test equipment commonly used by HVAC/R Technicians including, but not limited to, multimeters, airflow hoods, flowmeters, and gauges.
  • Inspection of buildings and grounds to ensure safe, well maintained conditions.
  • Completion of work orders as assigned and in a timely manner.
  • Maintenance of records on work projects completed.
  • Preparation of written reports related to work assignments.
  • Documentation of actions taken.
  • Presentation of written progress reports.
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment while performing job duties.
  • Maintenance of inventory.
  • Recommendation of supplies and equipment for purchase.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various Preventive and Corrective Maintenance tasks to maintain and repair HVAC and Refrigeration equipment and systems. This includes mechanical, electrical, controls, and pneumatic components.
  • Apply analytical and manual skills in inspecting, maintaining, installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing air handler systems, rooftop units, fan coil units, VAV and CAV boxes, fans, motors, pumps, compressors, icemakers, and walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • Conserve, install, and recycle CFC and HCFC refrigerants.
  • Proficient ability to use the Building Automation System to maintain an appropriate environment for patients and staff.
  • Assist with Preventive and Corrective Maintenance of building MEP systems.
  • Use a variety of machines, hand tools, and test equipment commonly used by HVAC/R Technicians including, but not limited to, multimeters, airflow hoods, flowmeters, and gauges.
  • Inspect the buildings and grounds to ensure safe, well maintained conditions and advise Supervisor of needed repairs.
  • Complete work orders as assigned and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records on work projects completed; prepare written reports related to work assignments; document actions taken and present written progress reports.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment while performing job duties.
  • Maintain inventory and recommend supplies and equipment for purchase.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
