About The Position

This role involves developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) systems and equipment. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, training delivery, and customer support. The successful candidate will train contractors on installation, troubleshooting, controls, and system operation, utilizing branded HVAC equipment. Training sessions will be conducted in various formats including in-branch, on-site, and virtual. The role also includes creating training materials, building live training units, providing technical support, and staying current with new equipment and technologies through manufacturer partnerships. Additionally, the role involves promoting training programs and assisting with unit repairs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HVAC field experience with technical training.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach technical concepts clearly to different skill levels.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and leading hands-on labs.
  • Proficient with basic computer tools (PowerPoint, training platforms, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Section 608 Certification
  • Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience
  • Experience with inverter technology, controls, and high-efficiency equipment
  • Familiarity with load calculations and system design (Manual J, D, S)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver hands-on and classroom HVAC training.
  • Train contractors on installation, troubleshooting, controls, and system operation of branded HVAC equipment.
  • Conduct in-branch, on-site, and virtual training sessions.
  • Create training materials and presentations.
  • Build live training units for hands-on training.
  • Provide technical support to contractors via phone and on-site.
  • Support the technical team with product knowledge and application expertise.
  • Partner with manufacturers to stay current on new equipment and technologies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting advanced technical issues.
  • Promote training programs to customers and help grow attendance.
  • Visit different branches to assist with unit repairs as needed.
