About The Position

This role involves developing and delivering HVAC training, both hands-on and classroom-based, focusing on branded HVAC equipment. The instructor will train contractors on installation, troubleshooting, controls, and system operation through various methods including in-branch, on-site, and virtual sessions. Responsibilities also include creating training materials, building live training units, providing technical support to contractors, and assisting the technical team with product knowledge. The role requires staying current with new equipment and technologies through manufacturer partnerships, which may involve overnight travel. Additionally, the instructor will help troubleshoot advanced technical issues, promote training programs, and visit branches for unit repairs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HVAC field experience with technical training.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach technical concepts clearly to different skill levels.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and leading hands-on labs.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Section 608 Certification
  • Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience
  • Experience with inverter technology, controls, and high-efficiency equipment
  • Familiarity with load calculations and system design (Manual J, D, S)
  • Proficient with basic computer tools (PowerPoint, training platforms, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturers to stay current on new equipment and technologies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting advanced technical issues.
  • Promote training programs to customers and help grow attendance.
  • Visit different branches to assist with unit repairs.
