About The Position

Mechanical Systems and Service (MSS), a Crete United company based in West Monroe, Louisiana, is a specialty heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractor expanding throughout Louisiana and beyond. MSS is hiring a commercial HVAC technician based out of Lake Charles to serve the surrounding counties. The technician will troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install HVAC systems. Candidates must have at least three years of HVAC service experience and EPA 608 certification. The position offers opportunities to develop skills while serving an established customer base.

Requirements

At least three years of commercial HVAC maintenance or service experience.
Universal EPA certification (EPA 608).
Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components in built-up systems and packaged units, which may include chiller air handlers, pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers, and air-handling systems.
Ability to read electronic schematics.
High school diploma or GED, with equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearings, and related components.
Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
Follow standards, policies, procedures, and safety procedures, and maintain a clean work area.
Record and report faults, deficiencies, unusual occurrences, and the time and materials used on work orders.
Adjust system controls to manufacturer-recommended settings to balance systems.
Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures, including cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricating parts, and changing filters.
Install auxiliary components on heating and cooling equipment, including valves, ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints.
Review blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to determine equipment configuration and ensure proper component installation.
Fabricate, assemble, or install ductwork or chassis parts using portable metalworking tools or welding equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
