Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Course work at an accredited vocational technical or trade school.
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical required.
  • Must have passed Tech Skills level 2 with an 80% or better.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a valid EPA certificate.
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical.
  • Ability to install cases.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and management.
  • Ability to take direction from Sr. Specialist or Supervisor.
  • Must have a good driving record and be able to work independently.
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
  • Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the repair and overhaul of equipment, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, accurately, and on time.
  • Repairs and overhauls equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices.
  • Provides general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities by diagnosing equipment malfunction and operating deficiencies.
  • Processes job tickets and work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.
  • Picks up and delivers cases and installs cases.
  • Drives company vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to ensure efficient operation.
  • Tests joints and connections for gas leaks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
