About The Position

The role will support equipment replacement, refrigerant piping, condensate systems, controls, startup, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and related project closeout activities while ensuring work is performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements. This position is contingent upon contract award, final scope, and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Documented commercial HVAC installation/replacement experience with air-handling units, condensing units, refrigerant piping, condensate systems, and associated controls.
  • EPA Section 608 certification appropriate to the equipment and refrigerant work assigned; Universal certification preferred for lead coverage.
  • Applicable current Texas ACR technician registration/certification and ability to work under a licensed Texas ACR contractor.
  • OSHA 10 Construction certification.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment schedules, wiring diagrams, submittmits, and manufacturer installation instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Section 608 Universal certification.
  • OSHA 30 Construction certification.
  • Carrier commercial HVAC equipment or controls experience.
  • Federal, VA, healthcare, lodging, or other occupied-facility renovation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead TCS craft execution for removal and replacement of three condensing units and three air-handling units.
  • Direct installation/modification of refrigerant piping, condensate drainage, duct connections, thermostats, controls interfaces, and related mechanical components within the TCS workshare.
  • Coordinate daily TCS activities, access, shutdowns, sequencing, and inspections with the prime contractor's Superintendent.
  • Perform and document refrigerant-line pressure testing, evacuation, charging, startup, operational checks, and troubleshooting within qualifications.
  • Verify manufacturer-required clearances, equipment supports, drainage, service access, and installation details.
  • Coordinate HVAC work with sheet metal, piping, electrical, controls, and laborer support.
  • Enforce approved infection-control, dust-control, housekeeping, and safety procedures within the TCS crew.
  • Support commissioning, punch-list correction, O&M documentation, and VA training/turnover activities.
