The HVAC Project Engineer will act as engineering technical support for the Design and Construction Sales Team by applying HVAC equipment and control systems knowledge. This role involves preparing technical/engineering selections based on consulting engineer's design requirements and equipment submittals for Sales Engineers, based on HVAC Equipment and controls estimates.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of HVAC systems, construction industry, familiar with blueprints and mechanical plans is preferred
Minimum 1-4 years (combination of equipment selections and estimation knowledge) is preferred
HVAC manufacturers' knowledge and Mechanical Equipment and/or Controls products knowledge is preferred
Proficient in MS Office and Outlook, and a CRM, strong math skills
Experience with Bluebeam software is preferred
Strong communication and writing skills, self-starter, independent, quick learner, deadline-oriented
Problem solver with attention to detail, team player, dependable, able to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug screening

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Trane, non-Trane, and competitor equipment and Trane Controls is highly desirable

Responsibilities

Prepare HVAC Equipment and Controls Pricing Estimates
Prepare technical support for the Design and Construction Engineering Sales Engineer
Create equipment selections and manage Sales Engineer and consulting engineer's demand
Prepare engineering submittals including specification review, engineering drawings, and technical details for client approvals and perform process and design calculations
Organize and manage the submittal schedule and project deliverables to coordinate with project schedule
Review blueprints for coordination with trades and compliance with contract documents; expedite and approve submittals and shop drawings
Conduct complete and accurate quantity take-offs
Coordinate with vendors for equipment selections and pricing
Generate and distribute RFI's accordingly, including pricing into a change order if applicable
Maintain and manage CRM (Salesforce) database and project management software (Procore)
Maintain a high skill level for all Trane and Vendor products as well as selection software programs used for preparing technical documents, including estimates and proposals
Provide pre and post-sale support to Sales Teams
Provide Turn-Overs for the Fulfillment Team
