About The Position
Paradigm Mechanical Corp. is hiring an experienced Pipefitter to fabricate, install, modify, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC piping systems and related mechanical equipment on commercial and government (federal) projects throughout Southern California. This skilled-trade role works closely with other trades to integrate piping systems. Welding experience is a plus.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of commercial and/or industrial pipefitting experience.
- Must have your own hand tools.
- Able to read & interpret blueprints and fabrication specs.
- Comfortable on commercial & government/federal jobsites; safety-minded (OSHA 30 / EM 385 a plus).
- Reliable, punctual team player who takes pride in quality work.
- Must be willing to travel
Nice To Haves
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship is a plus.
- Ability to pass our Pipefitting Skills Test.
- OSHA 30 / EM 385 a plus.
- Willingness to obtain OSHA 30 / EM 385.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble & install piping systems.
- Read & interpret blueprints, drawings & fabrication specs; calculate offsets, takeoffs & center-to-center.
- Shop & field fabrication and fitting per project requirements (welding a plus).
- Measure, cut, grind, thread & prep materials; join with threaded, grooved, soldered/brazed & flanged connections.
- Install pipe for hot/chilled water, heating, cooling & process systems, with supports and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
- Work with copper (Type K/L/M); fabricate fittings & two-hole flanges; set valves, strainers, reducers, traps & vents per code.
- Operate plasma cutters, pipe threading & welding machines; provide your own hand tools.
