About The Position

Force Equipment, a member of the AIR Control Concepts family, is one of the Midwest’s leading mechanical equipment providers specializing in HVAC, Air Distribution, Boilers, and Dust Collection Systems. As an HVAC Outside Sales Engineer, you will take a consultative approach to building trusted relationships with mechanical engineers, contractors, and building owners. You will lead strategic account development, manage complex sales pipelines, and deliver tailored HVAC solutions that solve real-world challenges. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role that blends technical expertise with relationship-building to drive long-term growth and customer success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of successful experience in Commercial/Applied HVAC Sales Engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with CRM tools and sales tracking systems
  • Proven ability to build and sustain long-term, mutually beneficial customer relationships
  • Strong consultative sales approach with experience navigating complex, matrixed environments
  • In-depth technical expertise in commercial HVAC systems and familiarity with key manufacturers in the market
  • Effective multitasking and organizational skills with a sharp attention to detail
  • Established network and reputation within the HVAC industry
  • Applies strategic and analytical thinking to evaluate solutions and drive results
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and professional—thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Works effectively across teams, customers, and suppliers with a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities

  • Develop and foster relationships with mechanical engineers, contractors, and building owners
  • Drive growth through strategic account planning and targeted business development
  • Manage commercial accounts with a focus on long-term customer satisfaction and retention
  • Ensure profitability by adhering to pricing structures and established sales processes
  • Understand specific customer requirements to create tailored HVAC solutions
  • Deliver timely, accurate solutions through product recommendations and system design expertise
  • Promote the Force Equipment product line at HVAC-related promotional events
  • Work closely with clients to ensure optimal satisfaction throughout each project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Oversee project management activities including quotations, order processing, and tracking
  • Manage logistics including freight claims, product availability, and warranty or field service coordination
  • Maintain clear communication across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Stay current on HVAC fundamentals and product innovations
  • Leverage deep technical knowledge to deliver high-value, practical solutions
  • Educate yourself, colleagues, and customers on emerging technologies and best practices
