The role requires individuals who can work independently, coordinate with site-based teams, troubleshoot, complete maintenance tasks, and replace systems. Experience in operating facilities, particularly healthcare settings, is preferred. Candidates must possess a clean driving record and comply with company vehicle policies.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs.
  • Regularly scheduled evening and weekend work and 12-hour shift work may be required.
  • Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to use hand tools, lift/carry 50 lbs., and work on ladders/step stools.
  • Requires working extended periods on feet in a fast-paced environment.
  • More than 3 years of facility maintenance experience in a hospital, university, food, manufacturing environment, or any other commercial or industrial institution.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Must have good communication skills (verbally, written); must be able to speak and write in English.
  • Must be familiar with the use of building automation systems (BAS).
  • Working knowledge of computers and handheld devices.
  • Positive, professional disposition towards work and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
  • Ability to succeed in a team-oriented environment under dynamic (changing) conditions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of JCCLP and client-related business activities.
  • Clean driving record and compliance with company vehicle policies.

  • Experience working in operating facilities, with a strong preference for healthcare experience.
  • Metasys knowledge is an asset.
  • HVAC and Electrical knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer needs, inquiries, and requirements professionally and promptly.
  • Respond to work orders, assignments, and requests in a timely manner consistent with the Facility Maintenance Services Agreement (FMSA) or management direction.
  • Perform mobile service work across a site network in the Greater Toronto Area using a company vehicle.
  • Attend to troubleshooting calls, complete maintenance tasks, and replace systems at the end of their life.
  • Work cooperatively, efficiently, and respectfully with other maintenance staff, management, facility staff, and contractors.
  • Perform all duties safely, diligently, and in compliance with occupational health and safety policies.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Perform a variety of maintenance, repairs, and services, with an emphasis on HVAC, Mechanical Systems, building maintenance, carpentry, painting, and plumbing.
  • Utilize working knowledge of Electrical/Electronic BAS, and other related equipment and systems within the FMSA scope.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and systems.
  • Comply with all internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection.
  • Conduct regular facility equipment and systems monitoring and inspection to ensure uptime, uninterrupted client operation, and asset integrity.
  • Communicate and record observations about facility equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies, providing suggestions for enhancement and repair.
  • Monitor facility by conducting walkthroughs and equipment/system monitoring and inspection.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and building systems.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to routine and on-demand service requests.
  • Record resolution data within the service maintenance management database.
  • Ensure work completed meets quality, contract response, and all other requirements.
  • Receive, track, monitor, and report status of maintenance and repair work within the service maintenance management database.
  • Initiate documents to obtain formal approval of work required.
  • Work with subcontractors on equipment repair, preventative maintenance, and calibration.
  • Recommend spare parts and supply purchases for facility equipment.
  • Accurately maintain/complete all equipment logbooks and maintenance records.
  • Assist in the implementation of the preventative maintenance (PM) program.
  • Ensure deficiencies are identified, recorded, and escalated, and that related documentation is maintained.
  • Participate in and assist with facility-related project work.
  • Ensure work performed complies with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection, and other applicable requirements.
  • Maintain all assigned tools and arrange for repair and replacement where required.
  • Assist in enhancing customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through work performance and service delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
